Excelling in the field of technology will make India Superpower, says K. Annamalai

BJP state President K. Annamalai presented awards and citations worth Rs. 13 lakh to 11 Tamil writers and poets at the SRM Tamil Perayam event held at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur.

In his chief guest address, Annamalai said, “SRMIST aims at promoting the Tamil language. This event celebrates Tamil writers who have contributed significantly to the language. It is important that we come together to support and appreciate their work in a forum like this.”

Addressing thousands of students the BJP State President said, “My vision and aspiration for students is to excel in the field of technology. I encourage you not only to work in the tech industry but also to establish start-ups and provide employment opportunities. This will help India become a Superpower.”

In his presidential address, Founder Chancellor of SRMIST, Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar said, “Tamil Perayam honours Tamil scholars each year. It has recognized scholars globally, fostering a sense of pride in the Tamil language. About 3,000 books compete and only the finest works are selected for this honour. Over the past decade, this platform has awarded individuals excelling in literature, poetry, and various fields, gaining international recognition.”

 Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar founded Tamil Perayam in 2010. Its mission includes raising awareness globally about the richness and uniqueness of the Tamil language, recognized as the world’s classical and oldest language. The recipients of the Tamil Perayam Awards are:

 1) Pudumaipiththan Padaippilakkiya award (Short Story, Novel, Drama): Writer S.Tamilselvi

2) Bhararathiyar kavithai award: Poet, Ravi Subramanian

3) Aazha Valliappa Kuzhanthai Ilakkiya award: Mrs.J.Saritha and Mr. M.Arun

4) G.U.Pope Translation Award: Prof.Pattu.M.Boopathy

5) Abdul Kalam Science and Technology Award in Tamil: Dr.K.Magudamudi

6) Parithimaar Kalaignar Award: Prof.K.Tamilamallan

7) Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi Social Justice Award: Prof.Siva.Elango

9) Sudesamitran Tamil Ithazh Award: Author Thanga Senkathir

10) Tholkappiya Tamil Sangam Award: Prof.Seyyon

11) Paarivendhar Payintamil Award: Author Shivashankari Recipient of Paarivendhar Payintamil Award received Rs. 3 lakh

Present on the occasion was SRMIST’s Pro-Chancellor (Administration) Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu, Vice-Chancellor, Dr.C.Muthamizhchelvan, Registrar, Dr. S. Ponnusamy and President Tamil Perayaam Prof. Karu Nagarajan among others.
