Samavesha 2024: Uniting Minds, Igniting Innovations in Science

Trichy, India – February 2024 – NIT Trichy and I-STEM Bangalore  
proudly announce the successful joint organization of Samavesha 2024,  
an initiative aimed at promoting indigenous technologies for a  
developed India on National Science Day 2024. The event, held under  
the theme of “Uniting Minds, Igniting Innovations,” witnessed a  
remarkable inauguration by Padmashri Mylswamy Annadurai, Distinguished  
Space Scientist, alongside esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Harilal  
Bhaskar, COO of I-STEM, and Dr.Umapathy, Chairperson of the  
Sophisticated Instrumentation Facility (SIF).

During his inaugural address, Padmashri Mylswamy Annadurai emphasized  
India’s cost-effective contributions to the space sector compared to  
other developed countries. He articulated the nation’s next ambitious  
mission of establishing a lunar lab, heralding a significant leap in  
space research. Dr. Annadurai also commended NIT Trichy for its  
invaluable contributions to the lunar mission, particularly through  
its Lunar Soil work, underscoring the importance of nurturing young  
scientific minds to advance technological frontiers.

In a compelling keynote address, the chief guest highlighted the  
transformative potential of collaborative research in sectors spanning  
healthcare, agriculture, and space research. Prof. Sudhir K Sinha,  
Founder of Lab2Market and a retired professor from IISc, shared his  
experiences in leveraging technology to address challenges in the  
railway sector, showcasing the power of translating research into  
tangible solutions.

Shri P V Kannan, alongside Dr. Srimathy Kesan, Dr. Balaji R, Dr.  
Sudhir K Sinha, and Dr. K. Muthukumar, led a spirited discussion,  
touching upon key aspects of research commercialization, intellectual  
property rights, market viability, and sustainable profitability.  
Their collective wisdom resonated with the audience, inspiring them to  
explore new horizons and embrace innovation-driven endeavors.

Samavesha 2024 attracted participation from over 200 faculty members  
and scholars representing various institutions. Throughout the day,  
participants were treated to thought-provoking dialogues and deep  
dives into the intricacies of transforming academic research into  
tangible outcomes. Attendees displayed a keen interest in exploring  
avenues for research facilitation, networking opportunities, and  
understanding the pathway from publications to patents to products and  
eventually profits.

Dr. Annadurai’s visionary insights, coupled with the expertise shared  
by distinguished speakers, have set a dynamic tone for Samavesha 2024,  
reinforcing the commitment towards fostering indigenous innovation and  
propelling India’s technological prowess to greater heights.
